Rate Card

Rate card is a schedule of charges for a group of services (Clinical, diagnostics, operational etc.) and packages applicable to patients grouped under certain category/categories namely type of patients, type of visit, type of room, type of diseases etc.

A Rate Card can be created in HO as well as in BO based on the role-based access.

For HO, system should allow to select a branch for creating a rate card for that particular branch.

When clicked on ‘RATE CARDS’ tab, all the previously created rate cards can be seen and when clicked one each rate card, that specific RC will expand showing all the RC details.

A search box to search RC’s can also be seen.

A symbol showing whether it’s a linked (flexible) or delinked (fixed) RC can also be seen in individual RC’s.

On the left side of the screen, a list of filters can be seen according to which the filtered RC’s would be shown for a patient.

Filters also have a clear all option to clear all the selected options.

When clicked on the Create RC button, the following fields can be seen:

  1. Preference for pricing type: Fixed Price and Flexible price.
  2. Encounter type
  3. Patient type
  4. Billing type
  5. Diagnosis
  6. Radio button asking if that particular RC has to be set as a default alternative for all the RC’s.
  7. Upload MOU’s option
  8. Terms and Conditions
  9. View Mou’s
  10. Rate card validity (start and end date with start date being a mandatory field)
  11. Save as – enter the RC name
  12. Description of the RC can also be given

Note: The first RC that would be created is called the ‘DEFAULT RC’ and it would be a Cash RC by default and it will have all the services which are mapped to the branch level along with their service pricing.

When the Create button is clicked, a screen would open up where the services for Lab, Radiology, Clinical, Operational, Packages would be selected by clicking on the ‘+SERVCIES & PANEL’ button.

How does the pricing system work with Rate cards?

Since the base pricing would be defined for all the services in the Branch level, the same bp would be pulled and showed here for services in RC’s.

Here in RC, we can give markup prices on the base price set in the branch level for lab, radiology, clinical, operational, packages.

These mark up prices will change according to the available room types in the hospital.

For Consultation services, the consultation charges which are given in the branch level would be overwritten by the pricing given in the RC.

Ex: If the general consultation cost for a doctor is Rs300 in branch level but the doctor wants the consultation charge to be Rs500 for a VIP patient, the, the general consultation pricing can be given Rs500 in that particular RC while adding services and this Rs500 charge will overwrite the Rs300 charge if that specific RC is applied for a VIP patient.

How is the pricing pulled from RC’s?

For a particular patient according to the conditions selected in the encounter screen, the RC would be applied.

If a particular service or it’s pricing is not available in the RC mapped to the patient, then the alternative RC for the mapped RC would be checked. If, the pricing is not found in that alternative RC also, then the Default RC is checked as it would have all the services mapped to the branch level along with the pricing.

Actions:

Edit: To edit the service details.

Delete: To delete that particular service

On top of the table, we can also see the following option:

  1. Duplicate: To duplicate the RC from one branch to another
  2. Terms & Conditions
  3. Excel upload
  4. Download: to download the Rate card details through excel
  5. Delete: to delete the RC
  6. Applied conditions: It would show all the conditions that were applied while creating the RC
  7. Alternative: This can be seen next to the RC name. On clicking it, all the alternative RC’s for that specific RC can be seen
